Introduction

Lensbaby 2.0, was invented by Craig Strong, to give the feel of Holga cameras. The Lensbaby 2.0 is a upgraded version of the first lensbaby, main upgrade is the Optics. The aperture disk system also got revised, and is now held in place by magnets. It features an accordion style body, and the lens can be shifted and tilted in any direction. The lens comes with 4 different aperture discs, that is held in place by magnets. One of the key features is the control you have over what`s in focus in your pictures. The focal length is approximately 50mm.

Positives

  • Sharp. Center sharpness is on par with the Nikon AF 50mm f/1.8
  • Price. @ 150 USD, this is not a major investment

Drawbacks

  • Focus, its pretty hard maintaining focus with this lens.

Verdict

If you want a retro Holga look in your pictures, and you don't want to spend time in Photoshop, this is the lens for you. I think the 3G version is a better buy, as you can actually lock and fine tune the focus(which is one thing i wish the 2.0 had).

Alternatives

Lensbaby 3G. From $ 269.95 USD.

Lensbaby Original. From $96.00 USD
